KBD Systems is a done-for-you marketing system for people who are excellent at something and never wanted to become marketers. It learns a business once — its voice, its beliefs, what it actually sells — and then writes and runs the content, the funnel, the emails, the offer, the checkout and the follow-up from that. It is built by First Light Holdings LLC in North Carolina, and it is pre-launch.
Why does KBD exist?
Because the tools got better and the work did not go away. A coach or a consultant or a course creator can now buy a platform that builds funnels, sends email, stores contacts and takes payments — for less than a hundred dollars a month. And then they open it, and it is empty. The funnel builder has no funnel in it. The email tool has no sequence in it. The blank page is the actual work, and every platform in this category leaves it on your desk.
The market answered that with people. There is a whole cottage industry of freelancers and agencies who exist to operate software their clients already pay for. That is the tell. When an entire labour market forms around finishing a product, the product is not finished.
KBD is the argument that the finishing should be part of the thing you bought. Not a better builder — a system that already knows what a funnel has to say and why, and says it in your voice.
What does KBD actually ship with?
Three layers, and they are what makes the difference between a draft and a blank page. Everything below is a fact about what is in the product, not a claim about what it will do for you.
In the order the system uses them
- Proven structures. A set of wired plays — one for designing the offer, one for the landing page, one for the nurture email, one for the sales page, one for the checkout, one for the launch sequence, one for the first hundred leads. They are distilled from programs and coaching rooms where these launches actually worked, and they encode what each asset has to accomplish, in what order.
- Your own brand layer. Two intakes: a required foundation that captures your customer, your transformation, how you help and how you are different; and a deeper optional layer that captures how you think, what you believe and how you talk. Nothing is generated from a generic prompt. Everything is generated from those.
- A retrieval layer. A searchable library of distilled program material and real coaching-call transcripts, so that when the system writes your launch email it can pull the passages relevant to your exact situation rather than averaging the internet.
On top of those sit the ordinary things you would expect: pages and funnels, email broadcasts and sequences, behavioural automations, a CRM with tags and contact timelines, offers and launches, a member area for course delivery, and checkout.
Who is KBD built for?
Two groups, and the second one changes how the product is shaped.
By how the system is used
- Experts who already built the business. Coaches, consultants, course creators, service providers, small software founders, local businesses. You have something real to sell and no desire to spend your evenings inside a funnel builder.
- Agencies. KBD is white-label and multi-tenant, so an agency can run many client brands from one place or resell the whole system under its own name.
Where KBD honestly stands
This is the part most company pages skip, so here it is plainly. KBD is pre-launch. There are no customer logos on this site because there are no customers yet, and there are no testimonials because inventing them is the one thing we will not do.
What that means for you: you are early, the ecosystem around KBD is small, and there are fewer native integrations than a platform that has been shipping since 2018. Those are real trade-offs and they are the reason the first group is small.
The one piece of proof that does exist is second-order and it is free to check: this site, the pages behind it and the emails that follow the form were built by the product being sold. That is not a testimonial. It is just true.
Is KBD the same thing as the website service that used to be at this address?
No, and it is worth saying clearly because search engines still associate this domain with the previous occupant. kbdsystems.com used to be the home of a managed website service for local businesses. That business is alive and well and now trades as Focal. If you arrived here looking for someone to build and run your website, that is where to go.
KBD Systems is a different product for a different job: running the growth engine of a business that sells expertise. Same domain history, different company, different work.
Questions people actually ask
What does KBD stand for?
Know, Believe, Do. It is the path a stranger walks before they buy: they have to know you exist, believe you can help, and then do something about it. Most marketing tools only touch the last step. The name is the argument.
Is KBD Systems the same company as the managed-website service that used to be at this address?
No. That business now trades as Focal, at focuswithfocal.com, and it still does managed websites for local businesses. KBD Systems is a different product on the same domain: a marketing system for experts who sell their expertise. If you were looking for the website service, Focal is where it went.
Who owns KBD Systems?
First Light Holdings LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. The same entity is named on the terms of service, the privacy policy and the data processing agreement.
Can I try KBD right now?
Not yet. KBD is pre-launch and opening to a small first group. There is no free trial to sign up for today, and this page will say so until that changes.
Does KBD use AI to write my marketing?
Yes, and the distinction matters more than the label. Generic AI writing is bad because it does not know anything about you. KBD captures your voice, your beliefs and how you describe your own work first, then writes from that and from a set of structures that are known to work. You approve everything before it ships.
Is KBD white-label?
Yes. The platform is multi-tenant, so an agency can run several client brands from one place, or resell the whole system under its own name.
